iPhone tomorrow - 6pm
So tomorrow some new phone is coming out... 2 megapixel camera, no keyboard, 8GB video and music player. And for some reason it's all over the news, some people are already lining up at the store for it's 6pm (local time) release tomorrow. Oh, that's why... it's from Apple. The iPhone.
Unfortunantly I'll be cleaning the house like crazy, for my good friends, the Scheids. So I will have to just listen and see snatches from all of the Twittering, live blogging, and video streaming coming from all of the people out there braving the long lines. Check cNetTV as well, Veronica Belmont will be at one of the stores streaming live from there.
I will be enjoying all of the articles and videos following the iPhone's release...
So, if you're going out there, have fun and stay safe!

Day of Silence on US web radio
Let's have a moment of silence... in protest of the Copyright Royalty Board's price hike (coming July 15th) on internet radio broadcasters. (See article, BBC news) Ok, actually it's a day of silence, but it's the principle of the thing. The SaveNetRadio Coalition is spearheading the whole she-bang.
Many internet radio sites, like Pandora, Yahoo! LaunchCast, and Live365, are shutting down all day today for this day of silence. Interestingly enough I could access and listen to my Yahoo! LaunchCast "station". But, out of sheer patriotism, I did not listen at all. :P
Pandora had a neat letter to the listeners explaining why they are down today.

Dramatic chipmunk/prairie dog
OK, so I think this dramatic chipmunk stuff is a bit overblown... I mean Veronica Belmont made a Dramatic Veronica, and iJustine made a Dramatic iJustine.
And then Yahoo! had a post about it on their homepage! (I was gonna grab a screenshot of the Yahoo! post but it's down... dunno why.) The gist of Yahoo!'s post was that "You may be the last person on the internet to see this video". Like people care?!?!?! I mean the video's funny the first few times and the Dramatic "whoever" videos are funny and cool, but c'mon! I just think it's a bit overblown, and honestly I doubt that people who haven't seen the actual video will get the fan videos.
Anyway... that's my rant for the day. And, if you're wondering, no, I will not be making a Dramatic Mike the pcrobot video. I think my baby brother would be a much better subject...
(I tried posting the embedded College Humor video, the original I think, but it wouldn't work, so I went to YouTube... ah, trusty ol' YouTube)
Edit: I checked back at Yahoo!'s homepage and they have the post back up.

Icon war
Have you even wondered what happens when you leave your computer on all night? Well if you have always thought that it just sits there, you are wrong... very wrong.
Click here to see what can only be described as an icon war.
Now that you have seen this, you know what you must do. Turn your computer off at night! :D

500th Buzz!
So, my favorite tech podcast, Buzz Out Loud, has reached 500 episodes. Wow!
The special episode was pretty cool, with clips from the show way back... (before the internet!)
(I'll link to the Odeo file of the 500th episode once it's up, otherwise just go to the site, or look on iTunes.)
Congratulations Tom, Molly, and Veronica! You guys have a great podcast, keep up the great work!

First iPhone video
Here's a funny video, supposedly the first iPhone parody.

(I'd embed the video, but Revver doesn't make that very easy from another embedded video...)

20 Questions - Wis.dm
It's a website that you can use to play 20 questions with probably thousands of people. I just ask a question about whatever and you answer yes or no.
After I leave the question up for 24 hours, I'll take the answer that wis.dm provides, then start with the next question.
So, here we go, question #001...yes or no.

What a LOL cat is
As I may have posted before I like LOL cats, I'm not obsessed with them, but they can be funny. (Even when they're not cats...) See above for a LOL cat example.
Well, in case you don't know what LOL cats are, Yahoo! Buzz a posting that you might find useful.

Apple iPhone ads
Since I was in WI for a few days recently I've fallen a bit behind in lots of things, not the least of which, my favorite podcasts.
When listening to an older episode of Buzz Out Loud, I heard that there were some new Apple iPhone ads. Apparantly there was no big anouncement about the date of the iPhone's release, Apple just started airing these commercials. I don't watch much live TV so I never saw them until I checked Apple.com.
As usual, typical Apple, the ads make you want to run out and buy it. It sure looks likes the best web browsing on a smart phone I have ever seen.
It should be a big day on June 29th...
