Wisconsin

I'm leaving today to go to Wisconsin, where we'll be visiting a cousin who is dying of cancer...
We will be coming back on Memorial Day, hopefully stopping by the Scheid's on the way back.

I ran in a local school's 5k, the Cat Race, today. It was really fun.

Google's dropdown menu on hompage

In the past 24 hours Google has added the link bar (seen in GMail before) to their homepage. New to both is the dropdown menu with even more links to Google services.

Pretty cool... with all of the stuff Google has been doing lately, I'm finding less reasons to stay with Yahoo! and all of their annoying ads.

Yahoo! Mail with unlimited storage!

Yahoo! Mail, Unlimited Storage - Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Today when I went to login to my Yahoo! Mail account, they had an announcement saying that they are now going to give you unlimited storage.

I knew this was coming eventually, ( I heard it on Buzz Out Loud.) but it's pretty sweet!

A trillion pixel image

Tissue in a trillion pixels - Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This was discussed on Buzz Out Loud this week, and I thought I'd share it. It's a trillion pixel image, so consider that your 56k warning!

The image contains 255 slides of breast tissue. They use a new file type called BigTIFF, since TIFF has a 4GB limit, this new file size is 143GB.

Here's the actual image.

Read more on the News.com Blog.

I think it's pretty sweet... it'll be nice when the average digital camera can shoot at that resolution.

Eating Twitter

I found this browsing Tasty Blog Snack. Evidently iJustine wished that Twitter was edible.

She got her wish.

I just hope all that color ink doesn't make him sick!

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Today we went down to attend my Great Great Aunt Ella's 100th birthday party.

It's amazing that I'm related to somebody that has been around for a century.

'07 500 Festival 5k

I have been waiting for a long time, and now it finally happened... the '07 500 Festival 5k.

I picked up my packet yesterday, and I was excited. We got downtown with plenty of time to spare, but we were cheap and we parked about 2 miles away to get free parking. At least the brisk walk got me warmed up.

I completed the 5k in a little bit under 35:30.

I really enjoyed myself, and I will definitely do it next year!

Picked up my race packet today

Today I went downtown to the convention center to pick up my race packet for tomorrow's 500 Festival Mini-Marathon & 5k.

It was pretty cool, there where a lot of different vendors. I was suprised to see many people trying on shoes then buying them. Maybe they aren't planning to wear them tomorrow, that could be painful.

I got lots of free stuff, including, but not limited to: 2 tshirts (the 5k shirt and one from JACK FM) a Shane Co (jewelry) hat and bandana, several samples of natural, organic, or energizing drinks and power bars.

I have attached my bib number to my shirt, and have my clothes out and ready.

Mr. Wagoner called, and it turns out that he and Sarah are going to be running in the 5k, in addition to Jon running in the mini. So I will have some "competition".

After a haircut tonight I sould be ready to kick some asphalt!

SUCCESS/Get Motivated! seminar today

Today I went to a SUCCESS/Get Motivated! Seminar, in downtown Indy. We parked at the Zoo and used free shuttle services (buses) to get to the RCA Dome. It was funny, we thought it was going to be at Conseco Fieldhouse until we got there. (It was there a few years ago and Mr. McDowell had the tickets...)

Here's a short list of a few of the speakers:

  • Zig Ziglar
  • Steve Forbes
  • Dr. Schular
  • Tom Hopkins
  • Tony Dungy - Go Colts!
  • Peyton Manning - Go Colts!

Some of the entertainers included Leon Pontillo, who sang two songs, including "I'm Proud To Be An American" and Quick Change, a fantastic quick clothes changing routine. (see the wiki) I think the actual group is this one, but I could be wrong.

Overall, it was a great day!
